Warren C. Stout, M.D., a nationally known laser surgeon, divides his practice time between his Pasadena office and the University of Southern California Doheny Eye Institute, Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Stout was one of the founders of the Laser Vision Correction Center at USC prior to the FDA approval of Laser Vision Correction. USC received its first excimer laser in 1988 when they were tasked with conducting the FDA studies in Laser Vision Correction. The FDA eventually approved Laser Vision Correction in 1995, after evaluating the results of studies done at USC and other universities. Dr. Stout then opened the laser center for use by private patients. He is the busiest LASIK surgeon at USC.
Dr. Stout completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency specialty training in Ophthalmology at USC. Following this, he went on to do advanced fellowship subspecialty training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the eyes and face at the University of Miami. U.S. News & World Report has rated this program number one in the nation.
